The MSc Nursing (Psychosocial Interventions in Mental Health Care) program's primary objective is to equip registered nurses with advanced knowledge and practical skills for implementing evidence-based psychosocial interventions in diverse mental healthcare environments.
This program seeks to build upon nurses' existing professional training by fostering critical thinking, expanding expertise, and cultivating essential competencies for evolving nursing roles. Completing the first year (Graduate Diploma) qualifies graduates for Clinical Nurse Specialist positions, while finishing the second year (MSc) prepares them for Advanced Nursing Practice roles. The curriculum emphasizes research application for practice improvement and focuses on developing critical analysis and reflective abilities for specialist and advanced practice. Students will gain professional expertise and demonstrate exceptional competence in promoting and evaluating cutting-edge nursing practices.

A registered nurse on the current register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland
Be engaged in practice as a registered nurse for at least one year
Students would normally possess a primary degree( Minimum 2.2) or show evidence of recognized prior learning (RPL) as outlined in the ( RPL) policy of the University and Department of Nursing and Midwifery
Students are required to be working in a practice setting for the duration of the programme
