The LLM program aims to strengthen students' legal expertise while broadening their understanding of diverse legal fields, ranging from criminal and competition law to property and human rights law. This program is ideal for those seeking comprehensive legal training without specializing in one particular area.
The School of Law has a distinguished history of cultivating students' transferable skills. Through activities like mooting competitions and community-based projects, we encourage holistic perspectives while directly improving essential soft skills—including problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. As a result, our alumni, both nationally and internationally, have achieved prominent positions in top law firms, accounting practices, government agencies, NGOs, academia, and private sectors.
We maintain close collaborations with legal practitioners, government bodies, NGOs, and key stakeholders across all legal disciplines. Notably, we have established robust partnerships with An Garda Síochána and the Revenue Commissioners, alongside fostering significant international connections. Our students benefit from global education and internship opportunities in Europe, North America, and China.
The Law School boasts a dynamic international student community. In a recent survey of over 5,000 international students across Irish universities, UL was ranked first for student experience, support, and hospitality. Additionally, the EU Commission recognizes UL among the top 100 Erasmus host universities.
