Previously known as Computer and Communications Systems, this updated Master of Engineering program offers students a unique chance to build a strong foundation in key Information and Communication Technology (ICT) domains, specifically tailored for Edge Computing expertise.
The rise of smart devices and cloud services has led to the emergence of Edge Computing, a novel approach that processes data at the network's periphery. This method involves collecting, storing, processing, and analyzing information near its source to enhance speed and reduce bandwidth usage. Edge computing will drive the creation of countless new IoT endpoints and enable real-time AI for independent systems. Additionally, it empowers smart applications and devices to react to data with near-zero latency, a vital capability for next-generation technologies like autonomous vehicles, visual recognition systems, medical advancements, efficient energy solutions, and intelligent industrial automation.
