The Master of Arts in Ritual Chant and Song focuses on sacred vocal traditions, complemented by coursework in liturgical studies and ritual practices. This program emphasizes Gregorian chant and Irish sacred folk music while embracing diverse global sacred vocal traditions. Students receive personalized voice coaching through weekly one-on-one sessions and workshops with acclaimed international artists. This unique program is delivered in collaboration with Glenstal Abbey's Benedictine monastery.

Program Goals:
To deliver expert vocal instruction in sacred music traditions, with special emphasis on Gregorian chant and Irish devotional songs, supported by academic exploration of worship history and ceremonial practices. To establish scholarly groundwork for interdisciplinary research connecting music performance, theological studies, and ritual anthropology.

Qualification Requirements

A primary degree in a suitable discipline with first or second class honours or an approved professional qualification (Primary Degree: Level 8 - National Qualifications Authority of Ireland).
An interview will be required in all cases, as well as an audition where necessary. Candidates may be required to submit additional audio visual and/or written material.

If your qualifications have been obtained in a country where English is an official language this will suffice
If this is not available, the following additional documents must be provided:
English translation of your qualification(s)/transcripts
AND
English language competency certificate

IELTS - Minimum score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any component.
TOEFL- (paper based) - 580.
TOEFL- (internet based) - 90.
