The MA Composition and Creative Music Practice is an innovative one-year, full-time graduate program tailored for composers, sound artists, improvisers, and performers across all musical backgrounds. It fosters personal artistic growth while encouraging interdisciplinary and multicultural creative exploration.
This intensive program, available as a one-year full-time or two-year part-time option, cultivates individual artistry while promoting collaborative work across genres, art forms, and cultures. Participants engage with both acoustic and electronic music through diverse compositional, improvisational, and performance approaches. The program embraces students from all musical traditions (including folk, classical, popular, and world music) and sound art disciplines, whether they use traditional notation or alternative methods.
The MA Composition and Creative Music Practice offers:

Primary degree in a suitable discipline with first or second class honours or an approved equivalent qualification (Primary degree: Level 8 - National Qualifications Authority of Ireland). Or an equivalent capability based on prior professional experience.
Matriculation examinations from European countries where English is presented as a subject and an acceptable level is achieved
Irish Leaving Certificate English –Ordinary Level Grade D or above
TOEFL – 580 (paper based) or 90 (internet based)
IELTS – Minimum score of 6.5 with no less than 6 in any one component.
English Test for English and Academic Purposes (ETAPP) – Grade C1
GCE ‘O’ level English Language/GCSE English Language – Grade C or above
PTE ACADEMIC:- a minimum score of 61 (with no section score below 59)
