The Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences focuses on cross-disciplinary learning, enabling students to integrate three academic fields. This program pairs with a data science foundation, highlighting data proficiency, methods for gathering and handling data, and techniques for extracting information from digital platforms. Learners will also have the chance to conduct independent social science research guided by a specialist in their chosen field.
Participants will gain real-world experience through Cooperative Education Placements and can study internationally via UL's renowned Erasmus and Exchange initiative. These off-campus components offer exceptional developmental prospects, hands-on professional training, and exposure to diverse cultural settings.
UL's history faculty consists of recognized experts dedicated to personalized education, delivering engaging courses across all four years. The history curriculum cultivates analytical abilities by examining original documents, historical interpretations, significant events, and their social and cultural backgrounds. Students explore source evaluation and historical methodology from the 1400s to modern times, with elective options spanning Irish, European, American, and global history across political, social, cultural, urban, and gender perspectives.
