Our students employ human-centered approaches to craft, test, and validate their creative solutions in practical settings with actual users, guaranteeing smooth adoption in everyday life. Ethical, meaningful design lies at the heart of our program, with students creating practical solutions that follow sustainable principles.
The Product Design & Technology program emphasizes discovery and hands-on learning to sharpen analytical skills, teaching students to spot opportunities and devise transformative solutions that perfectly marry aesthetics with utility, elevating lifestyles. Collaborative projects leverage our robust industry and community connections, offering students professional design exposure. The third-year industry placement provides invaluable practical experience, preparing graduates with essential competencies for their careers. Alternatively, students may opt for international study through our partner institutions in Europe, India, and the US. Our alumni have earned recognition in top-tier competitions including the Dyson Award, IDI Awards, and Enterprise Ireland Entrepreneur Awards. The program holds accreditation from the UK's Institution of Engineering Designers.
Product Design & Technology thrives in a studio-based setting that fosters innovation, peer collaboration, and cross-disciplinary investigation.
