The Level 8 Diploma in Clinical Education is tailored for healthcare practitioners seeking to incorporate teaching into their professional practice. This program consists of six modules - four mandatory courses focusing on clinical education fundamentals and two electives chosen from seven available options. You can complete the diploma either within a single academic year (September-June) or spread across two years, taking three modules annually.
This qualification equips participants with skills to create, deliver, and assess educational initiatives in clinical environments. Key learning areas include: instructional methods for various group sizes, providing meaningful feedback, effective questioning techniques
developing and administering assessments, supervision approaches for individuals and teams
planning and coordinating professional development programs
self-assessment strategies. Grounded in applied educational psychology and sociology, the course benefits both clinical educators and those teaching in academic or simulation environments.
Applicants must be registered healthcare professionals with at least two years’ post-registration experience and be actively involved in clinical education. General computer literacy is essential as parts of the programme are delivered via distance-learning. In addition, for the Master’s, at least 60% in the PDip in Clinical Education or equivalent is required. Selection is based on ability/opportunity to apply learning to your daily work, relevant experience and academic record.
English Language Requirements
IELTS: 6.5 overall no less than 6.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (20 Listening, 20 Speaking, 24 Writing, 19 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 61 in any one component.
