The School of Natural Sciences stands as the most extensive department within the College of Science, encompassing Biochemistry, Botany & Plant Science, Earth & Ocean Sciences, Microbiology & Zoology. With a rich legacy of outstanding research and science education, our School boasts more than 150 faculty members, 1,600 undergraduates, and 170 postgraduate students (MSc & PhD). To be eligible to enter on a programme of study and research for the degree of PhD you must have reached a high honours standard at the examination for the primary degree or presented such evidence as will satisfy the Head of School and the College of your fitness.
English Language Requirements
IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
