Proposals in Digital Humanities must incorporate a significant digital element, whether as a primary research and dissemination approach or as the central focus of investigation. Potential topics span various areas such as (though not restricted to): archival studies & conservation, determining authorship, classical research, corpus linguistics, crowd-based projects, historical research, cross-disciplinary partnerships, web evolution, literary analysis, computational linguistics, knowledge representation, academic publishing, style analysis, data extraction, textual criticism, and data visualization. Past DAH candidates have frequently collaborated with experts from Galway's Insight Centre for Data Analytics.

For Digital Arts, projects might explore themes like creative expression through digital platforms, the convergence of art and technological advancement, or how digital transformation influences storytelling techniques. Both practice-oriented doctoral projects and conventional scholarly formats are equally encouraged.
