Biochemistry research at our institution engages approximately sixty postgraduate students and thirty postdoctoral fellows from across the globe. Our investigations concentrate on these primary domains:
Cellular Stress and Apoptosis
This research stream explores intracellular stress signaling pathways and how various stressors induce cell death, with special focus on neuronal and cardiac muscle cells.
Chromosomal Science
The Center for Chromosome Biology's ten research teams investigate molecular mechanisms governing chromosome replication, distribution, repair, and gene expression - fundamental processes with significant genetic and disease implications.
Embryonic and Growth Studies
Key investigations examine developmental gene regulation using zebrafish models, alongside studies of hematopoietic stem cell differentiation.
Biomolecular Technology
This sector specializes in harnessing fungal-derived enzymes and biomolecules for industrial applications.
