BioInnovate Ireland is a nationwide initiative focused on health technology innovation, headquartered at the University of Galway. As part of Stanford University's global Biodesign network, this program equips diverse teams of innovators with the tools to create groundbreaking medical solutions and transform global healthcare. It collaborates with leading institutions such as Stanford University, the American College of Cardiology, EIT Health's European Fellowship Network, University College Cork, Trinity College Dublin, Mayo Clinic, and industry giants like Boston Scientific, Medtronic, Abbott Vascular, Creganna, and Aerogen. Through needs-driven innovation, the program tackles pressing healthcare challenges by pinpointing unaddressed clinical needs with viable market potential, while accelerating the development and commercialization of emerging Medtech solutions. BioInnovate Ireland aims to cultivate future medtech pioneers by training fellows and industry professionals, strengthening design expertise in Irish enterprises, and fostering new startup ventures.

Career Pathways
Our alumni have achieved full employment, with about 50% commercializing innovations discovered during the program. Graduates now contribute to startups, multinational corporations, and government organizations.
