The Master of Science in Health Economics is a structured postgraduate program that provides students with foundational knowledge and applied methods in economic analysis, tailored to shape health policies and healthcare decisions amidst global challenges like technological progress, demographic shifts, increasing medical expenses, and evolving patient needs.
Specifically, the curriculum prepares learners to analyze individual health-related choices, compare different healthcare financing and delivery models, and utilize economic evaluation, preference assessment, and statistical methods to guide resource distribution in healthcare. The program blends various modules taught through lectures, hands-on workshops, tutorials, and expert-led seminars, complemented by either a research dissertation or an industry-based project typically undertaken during a summer internship with a relevant organization.
Many alumni have secured positions with top pharmaceutical firms and health economics consultancies, while others have joined public sector roles in government bodies, healthcare systems, regulatory authorities, or public health organizations. The degree also serves as an excellent foundation for research careers, with numerous graduates advancing to doctoral studies and academic or research positions.
