The Master's program in Venture Management and Business Scaling emphasizes hands-on learning for growing new businesses, distinguishing itself from typical entrepreneurship programs that focus primarily on early-stage opportunity identification and business model development. Designed for specific career trajectories, this program prepares students for roles like startup founder associates, junior management positions in expanding ventures, and future leaders of family business spin-offs.

Students gain targeted expertise to guide ventures from launch to maturity, drawing on the knowledge and standing of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Growth & Scaling (CEGS) at the University of Galway, a founding member of the European Scaleup Institute. Combining the J.E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics' renowned management programs with the university's research priorities, this curriculum tackles firm-level solutions for global challenges through scaling strategies.

Career Pathways
Unlike most entrepreneurship programs that prioritize pre-launch activities, this course uniquely focuses on steering new ventures through growth phases to eventual exit.

Addressing gaps in conventional entrepreneurship education, the program delves into essential topics like sales strategies, financial management, team leadership, and operational efficiency. It develops competencies in marketing & sales and finance & operations, targeting skill shortages highlighted in Ireland's startup environment (ScaleIreland surveys 2023, 2024).
