The field of Classics is enthusiastic to offer guidance across any research area that aligns with the expertise of our faculty members, whose specialized research interests are detailed below.
Acceptance into a research degree program depends on approval from both the prospective supervisor and the Head of discipline, contingent upon the submission of a research proposal developed in consultation with a relevant faculty member. The research degree curriculum may include recommendations to attend Greek or Latin language courses. Applicants should hold an honors degree in a relevant discipline (minimum requirement: Second Class Honours, Grade 1).
Candidates for a research degree should have obtained an honours degree in an appropriate subject (Second Class Honours, Grade 1 minimum).
English Language Requirements
IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
