The MLitt in Archaeology is a two-year, research-focused master's program evaluated through a thesis (typically around 40,000 words). This degree serves as an excellent choice for students seeking advanced academic exploration without committing to a PhD. It also provides a solid foundation for those considering doctoral studies later.
Prospective students should contact the Head of Discipline for inquiries. The application process begins with discussing your research ideas, followed by in-depth consultations with a potential supervisor before submitting a formal application via the Postgraduate Applications System. We strongly advise reviewing the academic staff's research specialties within the Discipline beforehand.
Applicants for the MLitt must have a primary degree in archaeology with a Second Class Honours, Grade 1, or its equivalent international qualification.
