The Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering at University of Galway is a full-time 60 ECTS graduate program commencing in September and concluding by early June the subsequent year. This Level 9 qualification in the Irish system is structured to fulfill the academic prerequisites for advancing to Chartered Engineer recognition through Engineers Ireland. An accreditation review by Engineers Ireland was underway as of May 2015. Professional Prospects
This graduate program is particularly designed for civil engineering professionals holding an honors (Level 8) bachelor's degree who seek enhanced expertise in advanced civil engineering disciplines.
Since 2013, the ME qualification has been mandatory to meet the academic criteria for Chartered Engineer certification. Program alumni will be qualified to pursue careers across all civil engineering sectors, including consulting and construction.
Entry to the programme is open to individuals who have Second Class Honours in a Level 8 engineering degree in a related discipline from a recognised university or third level college.

IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
