The LLM in International Human Rights Law offers students an in-depth understanding of global and regional systems for safeguarding human rights. This multidisciplinary program immerses participants in both the practical application and policy dimensions of human rights law across local, national, and international contexts.
This degree attracts students and professionals from diverse backgrounds including law, social policy, political science, public administration, and development studies. Although focused on human rights law and policy, the program welcomes applications from qualified candidates without legal training.

The Irish Centre for Human Rights ranks among the world's leading academic institutions dedicated to human rights education and advocacy.
Through a collaboration with the Global Legal Action Network (GLAN), selected participants gain direct experience in international human rights litigation and campaigning.
The International Human Rights Law Clinic offers specialized training in utilizing human rights mechanisms, including engagement with UN and regional human rights bodies.
Educational visits include the International Criminal Court in The Hague and Irish Defence Forces military installations.
Professional Pathways
Graduates are prepared for roles with international agencies, UN organizations, global NGOs, legal practices, and policy/research institutions. IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
