Biomedical Science explores life sciences focused on human health and disease. This program teaches students about human anatomy and physiology from macroscopic systems down to molecular processes, along with pharmaceutical treatments for illnesses. You'll specialize in one of these core disciplines: Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or Physiology.
Designed to cultivate outstanding graduates, this degree emphasizes academic rigor. The curriculum fosters intimate learning environments through small-group instruction, enabling meaningful faculty-student connections while developing essential skills like Communication, Leadership, Collaboration, and Innovation. A distinctive feature includes conducting research projects during both third and fourth years.

Program alumni secure positions across pharmaceutical (e.g., Allergan), diagnostic (e.g., Abbott), and medical technology (e.g., Medtronic, Boston Scientific) sectors. Others pursue careers in scientific research, academic institutions, and various healthcare and medical science fields.
Minimum Grade H5 in two subjects and passes in four other subjects at O6/H7 level in the Leaving Certificate, including Irish, English, Mathematics, a laboratory science subject (i.e. Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Physics with Chemistry (joint) or Agricultural Science) and any two other subjects recognised for entry purposes.

IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
