The BA Government (Politics, Economics and Law) equips students with the knowledge to comprehend public matters and pressing challenges while building practical skills to excel in various career fields across public, private, or nonprofit sectors.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
This program provides essential training for roles in municipal and federal government, corporate environments, NGOs, international bodies like the EU and UN, and global development institutions. Through its academic framework, professional internships, and study abroad components, graduates gain preparation for careers in civil service, policy evaluation, labor relations, media, social work, political strategy, lobbying, and advisory services.
Minimum Grade H5 in two subjects and passes in four other subjects at O6/H7 level in the Leaving Certificate, including Irish, English, another language, and three other subjects recognised for entry purposes.
English Language Requirements
IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
