This program enables you to explore your passion for arts and humanities (you'll complete a full curriculum in your chosen Arts discipline) while gaining IT training. Through specialized courses exclusive to this program, you'll investigate digital culture's impact and creative potential, covering topics from social media and artificial intelligence to interactive media, cultural preservation, and remix trends. You'll analyze digital technology's effects from historical, cultural, and philosophical viewpoints while acquiring practical skills in programming, creative coding, web design, and digital media production (including video, graphic design, and podcasting).
During Year 3, students can participate in placement options, either completing an internship with a relevant company/cultural organization or studying abroad at a European university. The placement year aims to develop your practical abilities, broaden your professional connections, and improve your career prospects.
Career Pathways
Graduates who combine creative thinking, analytical abilities, and technical expertise face growing career opportunities. Potential career paths include: technology sectors, education, artistic fields, cultural preservation and creative industries, media relations, digital platforms, news media, and more.
Minimum Grade H5 in two subjects and passes in four other subjects at O6/H7 level in the Leaving Certificate including Irish, English, another language, and three other subjects recognised for entry purposes.
English Language Requirements
IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
