This program specifically targets careers requiring language proficiency. Currently, Ireland and Europe offer outstanding prospects for individuals holding translation or language qualifications—in fact, there's a growing demand for certified translators to fill available positions.
This intensely hands-on degree emphasizes the linguistic, technical, and professional competencies required for translation careers. While pursuing Translation Studies at Lann an Aistrichin, you'll also study Irish as a secondary subject, earning dual qualifications in both Translation Studies and Irish.
Career Prospects
Our alumni consistently secure positions across diverse fields valuing language expertise. We maintain robust connections with EU institutions, with numerous graduates employed there and within Ireland's public sector. Others apply their program-acquired skills in communications and education roles.
Minimum of Grade H3 in Irish and Grade H5 in another subject and a minimum of Grade 06/H7 in another four subjects in the Leaving Certificate, including English and another language
English Language Requirements
IELTS: 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component; Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): 176 overall; Cambridge C2 Advanced (CPE): 180 overall; TOEFL: 88 overall (7 Listening, 16 Speaking, 18 Writing, 8 Reading); Pearson PTE: 61 overall, no less than 48 in any one component.
