Supported by Microsoft Ireland, University College Dublin's School of Information and Communication Studies has launched the Microsoft-UCD Digital Policy Programme to enhance digital policy education across Ireland and Europe.
This cutting-edge program blends theoretical foundations with practical applications, combining core modules from the School of Information and Communication Studies with elective courses from other departments within the College of Social Sciences and Law (COSSL) and Computer Science. Students will explore fundamental digital policy concepts while developing critical perspectives on digital environments through frameworks like platform capitalism, governance structures, data systems, information analysis, interface evaluation, and software studies.
The MSc in Digital Policy equips graduates with the skills to analyze, implement, and research contemporary digital policy challenges. Taking an interdisciplinary approach, the program examines both the policy implications of digital technologies and the socioeconomic, political, and cultural factors that shape technological development and regulation.
