The MSc in Design Thinking for Sustainability is an innovative program that connects sustainability expertise with practical abilities, enabling students to initiate transformation during their studies and smoothly move into new career paths after completing the course.

Climate change is rapidly reshaping all sectors of the global economy. This shift creates demand for adaptable, creative professionals who grasp sustainability issues and, most importantly, can implement effective solutions.

The curriculum teaches the Design Thinking approach - a Stanford University-developed, human-focused problem-solving technique - to devise sustainable answers to intricate real-world challenges. Simultaneously, students cultivate a sustainability-oriented perspective by gaining literacy in sustainability systems, current concerns, and analytical frameworks aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

An English language qualification if English is not your first language.

If you are currently a full time resident in the Republic of Ireland and meet the Human Capital Initiative (HCI) Pillar 1 funding eligibility requirements (view here), you may apply for a funded place to the Graduate Diploma in Design Thinking in Sustainability directly via the Springboard plus website and on completion, apply for the MSc module pathway option. Applicants taking this pathway option will upload all supporting documents directly to the Springboard plus portal.
