University College Dublin provides a graduate conversion program designed for those with undergraduate degrees in non-IT fields (such as Arts, Business, or Engineering) who wish to transition into technology careers. This intensive course delivers comprehensive training in contemporary Computer Science through hands-on learning approaches.

Graduates will emerge with: a solid grasp of Computer Science fundamentals, specialized expertise in Programming, Data Analytics, Software Development, Web Technologies, Database Systems, Cloud Computing, AI, and Cognitive Systems, the ability to conduct independent technical research, and the confidence to work both independently and collaboratively on real-world computing projects.

The program includes a research component where students implement their acquired knowledge in substantial projects with industry relevance. During the final term, participants select 30 credits worth of courses from the MSc Computer Science (Negotiated Learning) curriculum.

Qualification Requirements

An Upper Second class honours degree, or the international equivalent, in a discipline other than Computer Science is required for entry. (In exceptional circumstances, a Lower Second class honours degree (2:2 grade) will be considered if the applicant shows evidence of significant relevant prior experiential learning.)
Computer Science is a mathematical subject involving logical understanding and reasoning and therefore applicants must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of mathematics.
If English is not your native language, unless you have done your primary degree through English in an English speaking country, an English language qualification is required for all programmes. Applicants whose first language is not English must also demonstrate English language proficiency of IELTS 6.5 (no band less than 6.0 in each element), or equivalent. Toefl A minimum score of 90 is required in the Internet based TOEFL (iBT) with no less than 21 in writing and at least 19 in every other section.
