The Master of Science in Behavioural Neuroscience delivers in-depth knowledge and practical training in understanding human behavior and its neurological foundations. This program is ideal for those aiming to advance into PhD studies in psychology, neuroscience, or neuropsychology, while also preparing graduates for careers in research, healthcare, and clinical environments. Participants will develop essential competencies in research methodologies, experimental planning, programming, and data interpretation. These skills are cultivated through laboratory rotations and mentorship from academic advisors, culminating in a 30-credit research project tailored to individual interests.

Behavioural Neuroscience is a multidisciplinary domain that integrates perspectives from psychology, neuroscience, engineering, and economics. Instruction is led by UCD's diverse faculty, whose expertise spans complementary disciplines, fostering innovative approaches to this dynamic field. Students can engage in faculty-led research initiatives and collaborate to produce a high-quality thesis. The School of Psychology features specialized labs for attention & memory, perception, neuropsychology, eye tracking, EEG, and media psychology, with collaborative ties to Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience and St Vincent's Hospital.

The School of Psychology welcomes International applications to the MSc Behavioural Neuroscience programme Our basic International requirements for the psychology degree are

An honours degree with Psychology as a major subject with a minimum GPA of 3.4 or 4.0
Completed an independent research project as part of the degree under the supervision of a member of staff
A reference confirming their suitability for graduate training from a fulltime tenured staff member of the University from which they received their bachelor degree

A primary degree with at least upper second class honours or international equivalent in Psychology or in Neuroscience
or a Higher Diploma in Psychology with at least upper second class honours
We will also consider applicants with at least an upper second class honours degree in a cognate area that provides appropriate background to the programme
Applicants whose first language is not English must also demonstrate English language proficiency of IELTS 7.0 no band less than 6.5 in each element or equivalent
