This program delivers top-tier economics education with an emphasis on real-world applications. Designed to equip students for careers as professional economists in policy or business contexts, it covers essential microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics while offering diverse elective modules. Participants may choose to specialize in Behavioral Economics, Competition Law and Economics, Environmental and Energy Economics, or Development Economics and Trade through a two-term concentration. The summer term includes either a guided research project or internship opportunity. After the first term, students can transfer to our MSc in Quantitative Economics, which emphasizes advanced mathematical and statistical approaches in economics.

Qualification Requirements

A primary degree with at least an upper second class honours or international equivalent in Economics or in a degree in which Economics is a major component
An upper second class honours in a Higher Diploma in Economics or in the MSc Qualifier
Applicants whose first language is not English must also demonstrate English language proficiency of IELTS 6.5 no band less than 6.0 in each element or equivalent
Students meeting the programmes academic entry requirements but not the English language requirements may enter the programme upon successful completion of UCDs PreSessional or International PreMasters Pathway programmes
TOEFL IBT - iBT 90 no less than 21 in writing and at least 19 in every other section in the Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL.
