The MA Statistics program aims to cultivate the next wave of data science professionals by equipping them with comprehensive statistical and machine learning expertise. Upon completion, graduates achieve parity with the MSc Statistical Data Science degree, as both qualifications hold equal standing. Unlike the one-year MSc program, the MA Statistics spans 16 months and incorporates essential statistical coursework in its foundational curriculum. These core subjects establish statistical and data science fundamentals before progressing to advanced topics.

As an EMOS (European Master in Official Statistics) certified program, select students can specialize in official statistics through dedicated modules and projects, potentially earning EMOS certification. The EMOS track features a research component completed via internships at organizations working with official statistics. Being Ireland's sole EMOS-accredited program, the MA Statistics is particularly suited for those aspiring to careers in official statistics, whether domestically or internationally.
