The Graduate Diploma in Emergency Nursing (Adult) is designed to enhance and expand an emergency nurse's expertise, competencies, ethical principles, and professional standards. This program seeks to cultivate clinicians' abilities for compassionate and proficient emergency care, equipping nurses to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based services in acute healthcare settings. Focused on broadening and deepening professional capabilities, the curriculum addresses the management of patients with sudden illnesses or traumatic injuries in emergency departments. This qualification targets registered nurses currently working in emergency departments who possess at least six months of emergency nursing experience and one year of acute medical/surgical ward practice.

Qualification Requirements

All applicants must hold a primary degree in Nursing or equivalent in a related discipline Applicants not holding a degree may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning
All applicants must be entered on to the appropriate division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives which is maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland NMBI
All applicants at the time of application must have at least one years postregistration experience working in an Emergency Department
All applicants must be employed in an Emergency Department for the duration of the programme and work a minimum of 75 hours per month To facilitate engagement and collaboration with your allocated mentor the majority of these hours must be day shift hours This is confirmed by a declaration form signed by the Director of Nursing at the students place of employment before the commencement of the programme

Nurse applicants Clinical Competence Assessor Nomination Form signed by the nominee
IELTS - An average score of 6.5 over all components and a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
TOEFL IBT - iBT 90 no less than 21 in writing and at least 19 in every other section in the Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL.
