The Graduate Diploma in Disability is designed for anyone passionate about disability-related issues, including people with disabilities, their families, and professionals. The program's core mission is to foster an inclusive society that honors the choices and rights of individuals with disabilities.
This full-time, one-year course consists of six essential modules covering contemporary and historical disability perspectives, evidence-based practices, national and global disability policies, and recent legal advancements. The Graduate Diploma serves as a stepping stone toward the MSc in Disability. Graduates may choose to pursue the master's degree by completing an additional 30 credits from specialized modules in education, health, law, psychology, public health, or social policy.
The program is taught by academics, professionals, and individuals with lived experience, employing diverse methods such as expert-led instruction, small group discussions, peer collaboration, and independent study. Assessments include essays, presentations, group projects, and reflective critiques. The course spans three trimesters: Autumn, Spring, and Summer.
