The Infection Biology research focus explores how pathogenic microbes and viruses cause disease, how hosts respond to infections, and conditions like inflammation and immune disorders, along with developing new treatments and drug delivery methods.

This PhD program in Infection Biology is offered through three UCD schools:

Qualification Requirements

To be eligible to enter a research masters degree or PhD programme an applicant must have obtained a minimum of an upper second-class degree or equivalent in a relevant bachelor degree.

IELTS - An average score of 6.5 over all components and a minimum of 6.0 in each band.
TOEFL IBT - iBT 90 no less than 21 in writing and at least 19 in every other section in the Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL.
