Evolution is a fundamental process in all living systems, serving as the core principle that connects all biological disciplines. By studying and quantifying this process, we can reveal life's history and understand the origins of biodiversity. Our Genetics and Evolution research initiative investigates evolutionary patterns across various timescales, employing morphological, life-history, and molecular genetic approaches. What sets our program apart is its interdisciplinary framework. We explore evolutionary mechanisms and genetic patterns in both flora and fauna through diverse methods including paleontological studies, phylogenetic analysis, population genetics, developmental biology, host-parasite relationships, eco-morphological assessments, behavioral studies, and comparative genomic research.
