Typically, students must select one academic stream to focus on during their second year, where they'll undertake two or more degree subjects within that discipline. While some cross-stream subject combinations are possible in the second year, these are restricted to compatible pairings in terms of content and scheduling, like Mathematics with Physics. The available combinations may vary annually and aren't formally listed. By the conclusion of their second year, students finalize their degree specialization. Provided they satisfy all first and second-year academic criteria, students are assured a degree subject within their chosen second-year stream. The institution strives to accommodate students' preferred degree subjects whenever possible. With multiple related degree options available in each stream, students have several comparable choices. In cases where a subject becomes oversubscribed, placements are determined competitively.
