The Irish Studies program offers an interdisciplinary exploration of Ireland's rich history, diverse society, and cultural expressions, while investigating the intricate formation of Irish identities. It poses thought-provoking inquiries about conceptions of Ireland and Irishness, including: How have geography, historical events, cultural traditions, and social structures influenced Ireland throughout time? What effects have migration patterns had on Irish cultural development, social dynamics, and national identity? How have social classifications including gender, sexual orientation, race, and socioeconomic status contributed to shaping Irish culture, society, and self-perception.
