This program provides comprehensive instruction in both theoretical knowledge and practical application of contemporary analytical methods, particularly focusing on addressing challenges encountered across diverse sectors of Ireland's industrial landscape. The curriculum combines classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory experiments, and a compact analytical research/development initiative to achieve these objectives.
Classroom sessions follow a structured timetable, supplemented by participation in relevant specialized modules.
Lecture topics encompass sampling techniques, traditional analytical approaches, spectroscopic instrumentation, atomic/molecular spectroscopy, near-infrared NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, separation techniques (including GLC and HPLC, supercritical fluid extraction), ion exchange systems, potentiometric analysis, voltammetric methods, sensor technology, process analytics, thermal analysis techniques, materials characterization, statistical data processing, and computational applications in analytical chemistry.
