Our BSc in Medical and Health Sciences is designed for students passionate about both scientific inquiry and healthcare. This multidisciplinary program prepares graduates for careers in medical research or healthcare by combining rigorous academic training with practical applications.
The program emphasizes research, with instruction provided by active researchers across various biological and medical science disciplines. We focus on delivering cutting-edge knowledge in biomedical, clinical, and public health sciences while developing students' analytical abilities and critical thinking - essential skills for shaping future healthcare innovations.
The curriculum includes foundational core modules in the first three years, establishing comprehensive medical and health science knowledge. In the fourth year, students complete a 20-credit research project (MH4010) in Medical and Health Sciences.
During their final year, students can personalize their degree by selecting from diverse specialized modules, tailoring their educational experience to individual interests and career goals.
Non-EU applicants are expected to have educational qualifications of a standard equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate
Duolingo English Test (DET): DET 120 with a minimum score of 120 in each individual section.
IELTS - International English Language Testing System/ IELTS Indicator Test: Minimum overall score of 6.5 and a minimum of 6.5 in each band
TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language - TOEFL iBT/TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition Test: TOEFL 90 (Listening 23; Reading 21; Speaking 22; Writing 23)
University of Cambridge: 176 overall with not less than 176 in each element of the test
Pearson PTE Academic: Minimum of 63 (with at least 63 for each item in the Communicative Skills section)
