A Politics degree offers a versatile 21st-century qualification, equipping you with in-demand analytical and practical abilities in research, communication, and technology.
Politics can be studied throughout all three years of the BA program, available as a single discipline, major, or combined honors subject. The Politics curriculum rests on three foundational pillars with input from the Government Department, History School, and Philosophy Department. The program employs varied evaluation approaches, with many modules relying solely on continuous assessment while some maintain traditional end-of-semester exams.
Essential research and communication competencies are cultivated through conventional techniques like reviews, in-class tests, and essays, alongside more contemporary assessment formats including:
creative poster development
policy brief creation
individual and collaborative presentations
social media evaluation reports
engagement in simulated negotiation activities modeled after international organizations
crafting opinion pieces and preparing grant proposals.
