This pioneering Masters program stands as Ireland's inaugural offering, tailored specifically for psychology graduates passionate about neuropsychology.
Participants will become part of a dynamic network of scholars and practitioners within Trinity School of Medicine's Academic Unit of Neurology, gaining an exceptional interdisciplinary education shaped by leading specialists in neurology, neuropsychology, and neuroscience.
The curriculum fosters expertise in essential research techniques for evaluating brain-behavior connections, alongside comprehensive knowledge of diverse neurological conditions - including their clinical manifestations, diagnostic challenges, and neuropsychological characteristics. Learners will examine fundamental neurorehabilitation principles and therapeutic approaches for managing these complex neurological cases.
The program promotes a clinical scientist/practitioner mindset throughout the educational journey. Cutting-edge evaluation techniques will mirror authentic scenarios from neuropsychologists' and cognitive/behavioral neurologists' professional environments, while maintaining rigorous academic standards. Optional clinical observation opportunities at affiliated teaching hospitals will further enhance students' practical understanding.
Applicants will be required to hold at least a minimum of an upper second-class honours degree (2.1) in psychology from a recognised university course, which confers eligibility for graduate registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland or equivalent professional body in the case of overseas applicants.
