Trinity's interdisciplinary Medieval Studies program provides students with essential analytical abilities for thorough investigation of medieval writings, primary sources, and artifacts, while enabling specialization in areas matching their academic passions. Instruction leverages Trinity's globally renowned collection of medieval manuscripts and historical objects, along with resources from other Dublin institutions and chances to examine Ireland's surviving medieval architecture. Students can select from three specialized tracks: History, Language and Literature, or Culture and Civilization.
Applicants should normally have at least an upper second class (2.1) honors Bachelor degree or equivalent (for example, GPA of 3.3) in a relevant area. Since places on the course are limited, applicants may be interviewed or asked to submit a writing sample for assessment.
All applicants whose first language is not English and who have not been educated through the medium of English must present one of the following qualifications in the English language:
