The School welcomes postgraduate research applications spanning its broad expertise areas. Prospective candidates must secure supervision arrangements with a faculty member from the School of Psychology prior to application submission. Research students are required to attend the School's regular research seminars during teaching terms. Early in their studies, each postgraduate must present a research proposal as their ideas develop. Students are actively encouraged to engage in both structured and informal academic development activities.
All Ph.D. candidates undergo an academic review within the initial 18 months to confirm their continuation in the program. This period extends by an additional 18 months for full-time students, while part-time students receive a one-year extension from their first year. The School implements an annual evaluation process for all research students to support and track their progress. At the start of their program, each student is assigned a thesis committee comprising two independent faculty members. As part of this framework, students must submit annual progress reports to their thesis committee.
