Housed within the Trinity Centre for Global Health, an interdisciplinary hub shared by the Schools of Psychology and Medicine, the Masters in Global Mental Health is a one-year full-time (or two-year part-time) degree program providing comprehensive study in global mental health.
This curriculum examines multiple related subjects, such as disparities in mental health condition prevalence and progression, social factors influencing mental wellbeing, cultural considerations, availability of proven interventions, and mental health systems in humanitarian contexts worldwide.
M.Sc. Global Mental Health students gain thorough theoretical and hands-on instruction in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programming, developed in partnership with global humanitarian agencies.
The program also provides specialized training in global mental health research methods, covering both qualitative and quantitative approaches along with research ethics. Participants must undertake an independent research project, with potential collaboration opportunities through the Trinity Centre's network of public health institutions, international NGOs, and academic partners across the globe.
Applicants will be expected to have an Honours Bachelor degree at 2.1 or above, in a global health-related and/or psychology-cognate area from a recognised university.
