Ireland's participation in the European Union, alongside the effects of globalization, has increased the necessity for legal professionals to comprehend diverse legal frameworks and cultural contexts. A fundamental worldwide division exists between common law jurisdictions, including Ireland, England, and the United States, and civil law systems prevalent in Germany, much of Europe, and other regions.
The Law and German academic programs address these requirements by equipping graduates with foundational knowledge of Irish Law, proficiency in another major European language, and understanding of Germany's cultural, political, economic, and social structures.
Applicants must have completed a high school qualification equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate. General matriculation requirements include pass grades in English, mathematics and a language other than English. Additional requirements may apply for some courses.
