The Computer Science, Linguistics and Language (CSLL) program offers a combined, multidisciplinary curriculum. Students in CSLL gain expertise in computer science while exploring linguistics—the analytical examination of language and speech—along with intensive study of a chosen language (French, Spanish, or Irish).
The program highlights connections between these fields, focusing on computational and data-driven language analysis methods. These skills are increasingly valuable in speech and language technology sectors, including areas like automated translation, voice generation, and speech identification.
Each discipline is taught to an advanced standard, preparing CSLL graduates for diverse career paths in general computing, language-specific professions, and speech/language technology industries.
Entry to Trinity College Dublin’s undergraduate programmes is highly competitive. International applicants must have completed a high school qualification equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate. General matriculation requirements include pass grades in English, mathematics and a language other than English. Additional requirements may apply for some courses.
