Our world is becoming more complex across social, economic, and environmental dimensions. Mounting environmental pressures create both significant challenges and potential opportunities. Addressing climate change and meeting the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) requires worldwide cooperation, acknowledging that poverty eradication must align with sustainable economic strategies, climate action, ecosystem restoration, and enhanced environmental safeguards. This program prepares students with scientific expertise to meaningfully address these environmental, climate, and sustainability issues.
The Environmental Science and Climate degree equips students with environmental science knowledge and management skills, along with sustainability principles in both theory and application. The curriculum includes foundational laboratory techniques, field research methods, and Geographic Information Systems training. Students also develop essential professional abilities (such as communication skills) necessary to implement their knowledge effectively in organizational and societal contexts. During their third year, students undertake a work placement semester, supported by a Professional Development module, to bridge academic theory with real-world practice.
This program explores contemporary methods for harmonizing societal and economic demands with environmental preservation. Graduates will gain practical expertise to apply environmental science across diverse sectors, focusing on biodiversity, water resources, and climate initiatives. The course covers natural environment ecology, conservation principles, and sustainable business practices for managing waste and energy resources.
