The Community and Addiction Studies program equips students with essential skills to work in both voluntary organizations and government or NGO-run community support services. Those who complete this program go on to work in community-focused roles that emphasize inclusive approaches, fostering empowerment, and teamwork.
Career prospects for graduates are diverse, spanning national, regional, and local initiatives tackling issues like substance abuse, housing insecurity, joblessness, cultural enrichment, and sports-based community programs.

With a strong emphasis on hands-on learning, students gain practical workplace skills. Key features include supervised placements in the second and third years, enabling students to implement their knowledge in real-world settings.
Leaving Certificate
A minimum of 2 H5 & 4 O6/H7 grades in six Leaving Certificate subjects, including English or Irish. Mathematics is not a subject requirement for this programme.
IELTS score for entry to undergraduate courses a minimum score of 5.5
