This one-year honors degree program, accredited at NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications) Level 8, culminates in a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Networking Applications & Services. Graduates will become essential members of IT and communications network management teams. The curriculum offers comprehensive training in network security, distributed systems, mobile app development, system administration, software engineering, and M2M (Machine-to-Machine) technology, alongside business fundamentals like management, marketing, and legal studies. A major technical project enhances academic learning, ensuring graduates can immediately utilize their expertise.
Programming skills form a core component, with dedicated modules focusing on Object-Oriented (OO) programming and design. Participants will develop mobile applications for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and BlackBerry platforms, including market deployment strategies. The program also covers installation and configuration of various internet server applications, such as web and mail servers.
Minimum NFQ Level 7 (Ordinary Degree) in a computer networking (e.g. DT080 - Networking Technologies) or engineering (e.g. DT008 - Electronics & Communications Engineering) or cognate scientific discipline or equivalent.
