The Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching for Further Education is a professional qualification accredited by Ireland's Teaching Council. This program equips participants with the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies to teach across various Further Education environments. No previous teaching experience is needed. Upon completion, graduates can register with the Teaching Council as Further Education teachers, assuming they satisfy the requirements outlined in Regulation 5 of the 2009 Teaching Council (Registration) Regulations.
As a student in this NFQ Level 9 program, you'll undertake several instructional modules covering both practical teaching techniques and the theoretical foundations of post-compulsory education. In addition to coursework, you'll complete 100 hours of Practice Placement in actual Further or Adult education contexts, enabling you to implement module learnings in genuine teaching situations.
