This cutting-edge MSc (NFQ Level 9, 90 Credit) program equips graduates for emerging roles in Sports Performance Analysis through a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. The curriculum is designed to develop the academic, practical, and research capabilities needed to excel as performance analysis professionals, addressing the growing need for these skills both in Ireland and worldwide. Tailored for coaches and practitioners, the MSc in Sports Performance Analysis enhances understanding of performance analysis techniques for direct application in coaching scenarios.
Participants engage with sports teams throughout the academic year/season, allowing them to implement learned concepts in real-world performance analysis situations. This practical component helps students cultivate essential technical abilities, interpersonal skills, and communication competencies required for successful careers as sports performance analysts. Past students have collaborated with diverse teams across various levels, including: youth provincial rugby squads, national basketball teams (senior and youth divisions), elite Gaelic football clubs, county-level hurling teams, competitive hockey clubs, and professional soccer teams in the First Division.
Applicants require a Level 8 Degree (minimum 2nd class Honours) in:
