Malting prepares barley for brewing, which is how beer is made. Distillation involves fermenting and purifying liquids to create spirits like whiskey and brandy. Ireland's malting, brewing, and distilling sector is growing quickly. Excelling in these fields demands both scientific understanding and engineering skills. As Ireland's first undergraduate program in this area, this four-year degree provides students with essential scientific training and technical skills for careers in malting, brewing, and distilling. With additional coursework in product innovation, marketing, and compliance, graduates will be well-prepared for these thriving industries. The program includes a third-year industry placement and a fourth-year research project.
