Construction management encompasses the comprehensive planning, coordination, and oversight of a project from start to finish. Its primary goal is fulfilling client needs to deliver a functional and economically feasible project within the engineering and architectural context.
This field covers various aspects including planning, design, implementation, modification, upkeep, preservation, financial oversight, engineering administration, assessment, and sustainable reuse of constructed spaces.
Instruction occurs mainly via lectures, hands-on sessions, and tutorial classes. A strong focus is placed on project-based learning and practical experiments, with site inspections and excursions forming a crucial component of the curriculum. Students must complete a project assessment and progress report, along with a thesis.
The internship component helps students become acquainted with professional workflows and offers firsthand experience applying classroom theories in real-world settings. Academic advisors from MTU and workplace supervisors jointly support this placement. The industrial placement's objective is to expose students to organized employment in their field while enhancing their comprehension of business operations, protocols, and technological applications.
